Another state record set during the recent gator
season on Ross Barnett Reservoir. John Ratcliff (center) captained
the team of six that caught the largest gator, 13 feet, 571 pounds.
Biologist, Ricky Flynt, estimated the age of the 571
lb. gator at 40-plus. That means that alligator was swimming the
Pearl River before the reservoir was impounded in 1965.
